BEGIN

BEGIN is the central information point for English for Speakers of Other Languages classes (ESOL). Many people want to learn English in Nottingham and there are a lot of people waiting for ESOL classes. There is ONE Waiting List for ALL ESOL classes in Nottingham including classes at:

Castle College
New College Nottingham
South Nottingham College
Classes at other learning centres and in the community

If you want to learn English, put your name on the Waiting List:

Telephone BEGIN, or ask someone to telephone for you, or
Fill in the Enquiry Form below, or
Ask someone at a college, learning or Information and Advice Centre to help you fill in an ESOL Enquiry Form. They will send your Enquiry Form to BEGIN.

Please give as much information as you can so BEGIN can try to find the best class at the right time and place for you. You only need to do this once, but remember to tell BEGIN if any of your details change, eg, your address or telephone number, the times you work, the times of your childcare arrangements, or if you are going away.

We will need to check your residency status and if you are claiming benefits to get free classes. To find out if you are eligible for free classes please click HERE (This information is available in English and 20 other languages).
Please also tell BEGIN if you do not need ESOL classes anymore.

BEGIN will keep your information in confidence and send you an appointment when there is a class for you. This may be a class at a college, or at another learning centre. It may not be possible to give you a class at the place where you filled in the form. There may be a long wait because classes are full, because of holidays, or because of waiting lists for childcare.
